COVID 19 - Ukrainian Folk Festival: WHAT TO EXPECT IN 2021
What to Expect in 2021: Changes, Measures and Procedures for COVID 19; Health and Safety Guidelines; Possible Attendance Limitations and Requirements; Ticketing; and Other Important Information, Notices and Updates.
INTRODUCTION: UASC Tryzub is exercising its best efforts to stage a festival that is as joyous and righteous a celebration of Freedom and of Ukrainian heritage, culture and independence as has consistently been the case for almost thirty years. Our postponement of the date from August 22 to October 17 is part and parcel of that effort. We wish to be as free and clear as is possible of (a) the risks and dangers of COVID 19; and (b) the associated health and safety restrictions, measures and limitations that have so dramatically affected and continue to affect our social and community events and gatherings.
POSSIBLE COVID 19 PROTOCOLS: By the same token, the health and safety of our patrons, vendors, volunteers, staff, and everyone visiting or attending our campus, buildings, and events are of utmost importance to us. Consequently, there remains reason to expect that UASC Tryzub will have to establish some best practices, procedures and health and safety measures and requirements (“COVID 19 Protocol”) that will govern the festival. Because CDC, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, County, Township, and industry standards, rules, regulations and guidelines (collectively “rules”) are in a state of flux and development, we cannot now publish a final COVID 19 Protocol; however, we envision that some or all of the following may (not will, but may) be required:
UASC Tryzub continues to hope and to pray that it will not have to enact any sort of COVID 19 Protocol. However, the realities are such that one has to expect that the contrary may be the case; that some measure of rules will be required. Consequently, it wishes to advise all concerned of the possibilities, so that we can all plan accordingly.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
CANCELLATION OR RESCHEDULING: COVID 19 continues to be an adventure into the unknow, regardless of perceived trajectories towards a “return to normalcy”. We cannot close our eyes to the reality that health, safety and practical considerations may ultimately require cancellation or further postponement (into the Spring of next year) of this festival. If this occurs, those that may have purchased tickets in advance will be offered the choice of a refund or the holding of their ticket(s) for a Spring Festival.
VENDORS, CRAFTS AND CHILDRENS’ FUN AREA: UASC Tryzub continues to monitor facts and circumstances in an effort to decide (a) whether or not these elements and aspects will be included in the festival; and (b) the COVID 19 Protocol that will govern that participation.
MISCELLANEOUS: Although UASC Tryzub desires to stage a festival in the joyous and righteous manner and style, to which we have all grown accustomed, health safety, the Rules then obtaining and practical considerations may otherwise affect the festival in ways that are foreseeable and in ways that are not.
